OTAGO POLYTECHNIC AUCKLAND INTERNATIONAL CAMPUS COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIPS

Purpose:

Otago Polytechnic New Zealand offering South Africans a Scholarship As part of our wider social contribution, Otago Polytechnic is committed to helping international students achieve their goals.

Our community Excellence Scholarships are intended to encourage and support the long term career aspirations of deserving students who are considering a future in New Zealand.

Eligibility:

We look for students who demonstrate academic excellence and a strong vision of how they can contribute to New Zealand through their future careers. Applicants should be eligible for a visitor or student visa

Scholarships available to specific communities in New Zealand are as follows:

2 Scholarships for the South African support per year

Selection criteria:

The screening of applicants eligible for scholarships will be based on the evidence submitted for our criteria outlined under eligibility and will be undertaken by a specially constituted scholarship award committee of the Auckland international campus.

Decisions made by the award committee are final and no further correspondence will be entered into.

Application process:

To apply, please complete our community scholarship expression of interest form and provide relevant supporting evidence. Applicants must ensure that they meet our entry criteria (English proficiency and academic) for their chosen programme.

A student may apply for a scholarship more than once over the period of study (where the programme chosen is an under graduate degree, the new Zealand Diploma in business or master of professional practice).

Applications for scholarships must be received well before scheduled intake dates listed below:
Intake:

Deadline for application receipt

October 2015: August 7, 2015

January 2016: October 30, 2015

March 2016: December 5, 2015

June 2016: March 5, 2016

August 2016: May 5, 2016

October 2016: August 5, 2016

The applications can be supported by letters of recommendations from agents, teacher’s community groups, your existing education institution, employers or government bodies in your home country.

Courses offered:

New Zealand Diploma in Business:
– 2 years full time
Bachelor of applied management:
– 3 years full time
Graduate diploma in applied management:
– 1 year full time
Master of professional practice:
– 2 years full time
Graduate Diploma in Hotel Management
– TBC
Graduate Diploma in information technology
– One year full time

Terms and condition

Our scholarships are part or full tuition fee waivers, have no cash value and are offered across the entire range of programmes offered at the Auckland International Campus.

Students granted scholarships will be required to study full time and pay any remaining tuition fee amount (if a part waiver scholarship granted) and any associated costs relating to visas travel insurance, accommodation and all other living expenses are responsibility of the student.

Students granted scholarships will also be required to consistently excel in their academic performance, demonstrate leadership abilities, show some form of community involvement and share their unique strengths and diverse perspectives.

Otago Polytechnic reserves the right to undertake any promotional or public relations activity in relation to the award of such scholarships. The students offered the scholarship agree to take part activity without payment or any additional financial contribution.

Otago Polytechnic’s Auckland International Campus reserves the right to alter the terms and conditions pertaining to our global engagement scholarships at any time without notice.
