Technical Manager – PVC Manufacturing – FIJI
Are you a qualified Chemical/Mechanical Engineer with 10 to 15 years previous experience within a manufacturing sector ?
Do you have experience within the pipe production industry at a managerial level ?
This longstanding, leading company based in Fiji specialises in the manufacture of Pressure Pipes, Down Pipes, Sewerage Pipes, Drain Pipes, Waste Pipes and Vent Pipes for use in the agriculture, irrigation and domestic sectors, and Electrical Conduits and Telecom Ducts for use in industrial and domestic reticulation.

As the Technical Manager you will be charged with production planning, implementing best practice to produce and standardise high quality MPVC pipe products and PVC fittings, meeting or exceeding performance standards in every respect including statutory and legal requirements for operation of the plant. This is therefore a very important role which will also be accountable for developing foam core formulations, standardising all production processes, and generally taking responsibility for setting up and monitoring a modern PVC manufacturing plant including working with the Inventory Controller to maintain target Inventory levels.
Reporting to the General Manager, ideally you will be a motivated team player with experience in handling a green field project; have prior hands-on managerial experience in the pipe industry, proven problem solving and leadership skills, ability to think laterally, and bring common-sense, and hardworking approach.
This is a pivotal position within this company, and remuneration will accordingly reflect that seniority. Applicants will be prepared to relocate to Fiji as a lifestyle change and will meet all requirements to enable the company to secure relevant work permit documentation. Reasonable relocation costs are funded by the employer and accommodation is provided.
