Hi there! I came across your group South Africans in New Zealand as part of a search I am doing to try and find a tutor who could help me learn Afrikaans. I am not South African, but have travelled there recently and am truly in love with it. I have tried to learn some Afrikaans on my own, but I think I’m at the point where I need a language buddy, so I am wondering if you would know of anyone in your group that might be willing and able to help? I am originally from Canada, but am studying in Wellington, NZ. I would be keen to meet up for coffee or lunch with anyone who would be interested in tutoring me (my shout of course!). I’m just looking for someone that can teach me the basics and will let me practice speaking with them maybe for an hour each week?
